Although born in Canada and raised in Argentina, Maria has no memory of the metric system. She moved to Honolulu at age 9 and gained most of her knowledge of American culture from watching too much VH1. While she gave up the dream of penning the next great movie script in high school, she realized she was happiest when writing.

After graduating from the University of Hawaiʻi with a B.A. in Communications and a B.A. in American Studies, she managed social media for the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum and edited blog articles as an Associate Content Specialist at Thryv.

Maria currently works as a Communications Specialist for the Honolulu Museum of Art. When she's not working, there's a high chance she'll be farming… on a Nintendo Switch.
